Meeting The Moment: Growing New Nurses During The Pandemic

Tuesday, 11/10/2020: 3-5pm by Zoom

How can we help graduating nurses be more successful despite the barriers presented?

COVID-19 has starkly changed the structure of nursing school curriculum, methods of learning, and amount of time students have live patient contact while partnered with resource nurses.  Much of the content has gone online to case discussions and virtual patient contact software.  Therefore, the nursing students graduate feeling severely ill-prepared for their new career.

This course, a collaboration between Great Basin American Association of Critical Care Nurses & the High Sierra Nurses in Professional Development, aims to discuss the gaps created by the change in curriculum and how receiving organizations can best assist the new grad to develop into a competent and confident nurse. This forum is intended for all academic instructors and leadership / education teams from any organization that hires newly graduated RNs.

Multiple presenters and Panel Discussion
